Night 2

He was a surprise...Never in my life had two come around the same time...But he...Something didn't seem right...So I just stayed away...I didn't trust him as much as I did her....And I didn't even know him...I couldn't find his dream orb...Something isn't right about him...

Alicia awoke once again in the DreamScape, but denied being there. She got up and dusted herself off " This is just a stupid dream..." she mumbled to herself "Nothing but a dumb repetitive dream...It's not real" she sighed, Rei slowly floated down next to her, stroking his chin and smirking a bit "Hmm...If this place is the bridge between dreams and reality, maybe it doesn't exist at all...Maybe...I am a human...Maybe...The DreamScape is MY dream and this is just some weird conjoined dream! Does this mean we are what the humans call "soul mates"?" Rei laughed at the look of disgust  on Alicia's face "I don't want you as my "soul mate" if you look like that!!!" she pushed him away "Well I can't help it, this is how you see me! Even though not many humans manifest themselves here, everyone sees me different because sometimes I sneak into there dreams and mess around! This job gets boring when I have no one to talk to!"

She turned to him as he landed "Job?" she asked in a puzzled tone. "Well, yeah job...You didn't think I just spend all day messing with people's dreams and decorating, did you? Oh no, being a Dream Keeper is way more complex than that! I need to keep this place organized and move all the possible nightmares to the Nightmare Zone before the moon comes up or it could effect the good dreams around it, and worse of all...I have t-" A pulse of black surged through the room, making everything dark for a second. Rei's expression quickly turned to one of sorrow "And....I...I have to take care of the dead ones..." he gently took Alicia's hand and slowly lead her through the Dream orbs.

Rei didn't look up once. He only looked Down at his feet and cried. "...T-the...The dead ones...Are the Dream orbs of...O-of...People...Who die in there sleep...C-considering my age group...It doesn't happen a lot...B-but....But when it does..." He stopped in front of a completely black sphere and picked it up, letting go of Alicia's hand and hugged it "...I-I'm the only one there for them...Because no one will know until morning..." she watched him sadly as he sat down, placing the blackened orb in his lap.

"It's stupid to cry over someone you didn't know! Let it go!" Rei looked up at a boy that was off in the distance "You have one job to do! Letting emotions get in the way is too human for a being like you!" the boy stuck his tongue out and ran off. Alicia was about to run after him, but was stopped by Rei "I know how you like to get into fights, let it go...You're weaker in the DreamScape since only your soul comes here and not your whole body...Fighting could risk your life...And innocent people who get in the way..." he pulled her down next to her.

Alicia looked away for a moment, then hugged Rei "I think it's nice people who die in their sleep have at least someone by their side..." he smiled slightly and hugged her back "Thanks...Now..." He stood up "I need to release the soul in this and you need to wake up, you're late..." He laughed a bit and flicked Alicia's forehead "I think you're starting to like me too much..." She blacked out.

Alicia bolted up from her bed and looked at her clock "Oh my god it's almost nine!!!" She rushed out of her bed, running all around her room in a hurry to get ready " I HATE YOU REI!!!"
