Rei: Keeper of Dreams

Night 1

"It was a normal night...Normal as any other night would be...I find it funny that when I recently took a fascination with her amazing imagination, she came...Like the Gods and Goddesses of Fate had decided to bring us together...To allow me to meet her and her big, bright green eyes...Green eyes that shown no sorrow...Green eyes that shined with only happiness...Green eyes....That would make anyone smile...."

The room was big. It was big with many bubble like orbs floating around. The orbs shown people doing things they could not, meeting people that have been long gone and preforming impossible deeds. These were things people could only dream of doing.

Alicia's eyes wandered in confusion and amazement. She didn't understand where she was, but it was beautiful. There wasn't one place she looked that was dull. The room was bright with colors of all sorts and everything sparkled and shimmered, but, in the center of it all, was something that caught her eye. In the center was a white stand decorated with colorful petrified flowers. Each detail of every petal and every leaf was frozen in time, its beauty forever preserved. Atop the beautifully decorated stand was another bubble like orb that shown only a rainbow of colors. She slowly walked over and took in as much of its beauty as possible. Alicia kept her hands firmly at her sides, feeling if she touched anything, it would all melt away. She was so caught up in the beauty of it all that she didn't notice something float down behind her and chuckle. "Beautiful,  isn't it? I decorated it all myself. It's nice to know someone admires my handy work!" She jumped and slowly turned around, the being looked at her puzzled for a second "Wait...You can hear me? That means you can see me to right?!" Alicia nodded "Y-yes..." "WOW REALLY?!?! This is amazing! This is wonderful!! This is...Oh...Oh, sorry...Let me introduce myself..." The creature bowed, Alicia loosened up a bit when she was sure she was in no danger "My name is Rei, and it is my honor to be the first..." he laughed a bit "...And sadly the only one, to welcome you to the DreamScape!"

Alicia looked at Rei confused "The...DreamScape?" He stood up and nodded "Yeah. It's the bridge between Dreams and Reality.  The last person who was able to manifest themself here called it Dreality. It was silly so I never used it after he stopped coming, but that was over one hundred years ago...Humans can't normally manifest themselves here and be able to hear or see me, so you're special! I know you're special! I've been watching you!" "Watching me?!" Alicia shouted,  backing away from Rei "Oh no no no! Not like that! Watching your dreams! You have a very interesting imagination!" She glared at him for a while, but her curiosity was high and she still had many things to ask.

"So...." she looked around "How exactly have you been watching my dreams?" he laughed like she told a joke "Don't you see all the orbs? These are all dreams of people. Granted, it's not EVERYONE in the world, but it is still a big portion.  Sometimes, I take interest in a certain person's dreams and watch them...Okay, yes, that does sound creepy now that I think about it..." he looked down in embarrassment "But there's not much to do around here!" Rei crossed his arms and turned away, Alicia laughed as this childish display "You act like a little kid!" "I am NOT a little kid! I am over sixteen billion years old! You're the kid here!" She laughed more "I have decided you are no fun..." she tried her best to stop laughing "But we barely even know each other..."

Rei turned back to her "Your name is Alicia Graley, your birthday is July 13th, 1998, you're fourteen, live with your mom dad and older brother, Austin, you have pretty good grades in school, but they could be better, Mary's been your best friend since you were little,your favorite food is spaghetti with meatballs,  you really have nothing bad going on in your life and are generally a happy person, but have some trust issues. You can learn a lot from watching people's dreams."

She stood shock and wasn't really sure how to respond.  He basically knew everything about her, but she didn't even know him. " You know my name is Rei, I'm over sixteen billion years old, I'm the keeper of the dreams for people of Earth in the age group eleven through nineteen, and I do have a sort of "family" but we aren't allowed to meet so I don't know them...Is that enough for you?" Alicia blinked in amazement and tried to balance herself.  This was all overwhelming her and was starting to make her feel dizzy. Before she could realize what was happening she felt a sharp pain  in the back of her head and heard Rei asking in a panicked tone if she was okay.

Alicia woke up in her room. She stretched and yawned "That was all just a dream...?" she rubbed her eyes and laughed to herself "...What a stupid dream..."
